Tour Introduction

The wood carving section exhibits Buddhist wooden sculptures from the Tang Dynasty to modern times. Through the skillful hands of artisans throughout history, solemn Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, carefree Arhats, and majestic guardian deities are vividly presented before your eyes. These precious Buddhist statues, so difficult to preserve, are not only a testament to the devout aspirations of the ancients but also a showcase of the finest achievements of thousands of years of refinement in Chinese wood carving, polychrome decoration, and lacquer painting techniques.
